“I just want to say thank you to Ryanne for allowing me to gain confidence… the way that things were explained to me truly made a world of a difference”
About Me/ Teaching Philosophy!
Hi there! Thank you so much for being here! My name is Ryanne, and I am a NYC-based performer and voice teacher. Interested in working with me? I’d love nothing more! Let me tell you a little bit about myself!
I recently graduated from NYU Steinhardt with my Masters in Musical Theatre Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy. Here I had the pleasure of teaching at NYU as an adjunct voice instructor, teaching students of all skill levels. I also served as the Apprentice Vocal Coach for NYU’s award-winning Pop/Rock ensemble where I got to coach singers on pop/rock vocal technique, repertoire selection, stage presence and more! Prior to this, I got my Bachelors in Music Education from The Crane School of Music, where I then became a certified K-12 music teacher. That being said, I’ve been teaching a long time. I teach ages 8-adult, at any level! Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, I’m here to help you gain a better understanding of your voice, who you are as an artist, and grow your confidence as a performer!
In addition to my training as a teacher, I am also a professional performer – having performed across the country in professional productions, concerts, cabarets, etc!
Since the moment I chose to pursue teaching, whether in a K-12 classroom environment or through private instruction, I’ve been devoted to a student-centered, evidence-based approach. I feel that my role as a voice teacher is to serve my students in reaching their greatest vocal potential. I want my students to know that they can trust that I will always work to prioritize their individual creative endeavors, aiding them in creating healthy and sustainable sounds that they feel proud of.
Evidence-based practice is at the forefront of my teaching. I work to stay updated on the latest voice science, so that I can give my students the most up-to-date information, finding ways to make singing as easy and efficient as possible. Additionally, I believe that cross-training is an essential component of voice training. I believe that the key to keeping
your voice even and balanced is working all ends of the musical spectrum.

To be able to create music that is authentic to the student and their goals, the studio space must be a safe and comfortable environment. I strive to make my students feel comfortable in my studio, encouraging them to try new things and make mistakes. I also believe in process over product, in the sense that my students (and myself) are life-long learners, aiming to appreciate the progress made, and be open to new ideas.
Above all else, singing should be fun!! When we sing, we often aim to express emotions that regular speech just can’t portray. I want my students to feel like they can experiment with new sounds and express their emotions. I want my students to feel supported, and for them to know I will always have their best interest at heart.
